I really enjoyed working on this commission, which had a combination of architecture as well as the maritime aspects. This oil painting is a depiction of a boat moored outside its owner's home in Port Grimaud, St Tropez, South of France. There was a lot of detail involved and a high level of realism to be achieved. Painting the water with great care and patience really brought the painting to life. The client chose the painting's title Half a Century; the painting was commissioned as a 50th birthday gift for a friend — the boat's owner.
